About Pressed & Curious
Handmade nails for real hands, by someone who gets it.
Hi! I'm Nikki, the nail artist and one-woman operation behind Pressed & Curious.
The sizing problem is personal
I started making press-on nails because I lived the sizing struggle. My thumb nail is wider than the standard large. My left and right ring fingers are a whole size different from each other. Nothing fit right, and I was tired of expensive sets that popped off by lunch because the sizing was wrong.
So I decided to fix it. Every set I make is sized per finger — all 10 of them, measured individually. Wide nail beds, narrow nail beds, curved, flat, big hands, small hands — I make for you.
Art I'd been missing
I also really missed making art. I used to draw and paint all the time when I was younger, but somehow it always got pushed to the back as life got busier. My day job is actually building websites, web apps, and mobile apps — and helping voice actors (I used to be one!). I love what I do, but I needed a creative outlet again.
Press-on nails turned out to be exactly that. I get to design tiny wearable art, AND I get to wear it myself. I especially love wearing long, fancy nails — I put them on with sticky tabs so I can rip them off whenever I change outfits or need to spend several hours typing, because any kind of nail slows me down. Best of both worlds.
Taking the craft seriously
Turns out I'm great at this and improving fast! But I did have to learn how to work with gels — very different from pens or gouache. I took a gel chemistry course to really understand how gels work, how to cure them properly, and how to keep myself (and everyone around me) safe.
That last part matters a lot to me. I have cats and a toddler at home, and I'm not willing to take risks with their health. Every material I use is carefully chosen, and my workspace is set up with safety as a priority.
What you get
Each set is hand-crafted with gel, cured under UV, and finished with care. No factory line. No mass production. Just me, my lamp, and an unreasonable amount of attention to detail.
Whether you want everyday neutrals, chaotic glitter, spooky claws, renaissance festival vibes, or elegant bridal sets — I'm here to make nails that fit your life (and your fingers).
